Space Telescope

James Webb Space Telescope

Controls: Static Model

CMR built a three foot model of the James Webb Space Telescope for the Space Telescope Science Institute. The model has a brass frame structure with laser cut plastic parts attached to it. The model is painted and in some areas wrapped in mylar like material that is either silver or purple. Sun shield are streched mylar held under tension. Additional details are 3D printed in plastic or metal.

The rudder on the back of the craft is used to steer it when correcting orbit positon.
